The Wake Forest Listening Room was started in 2017 as a series of performances around town featuring local and regional original musicians. The main intent of the WFLR is to give artists a “sacred space” where their music could be focused on with no distractions like sports on TVs, conversations, etc. It also provides the same for audience members.
The series found a permanent home downstairs from Sugar Magnolia Café, where we hosted more than 300 performances before COVID shut us down in late 2021.

In October 2023, we’re reopening in the new space next door to our independent Wake Forest bookstore, Page 158 Books. We’ll have more seating, new sound and light systems, delicious food and drinks, and we’ll keep that same “listening room” vibe that guests and musicians have come to love and appreciate!
All our shows and ticket links can be found on this site or at eTix.com. Join us for a show and enjoy a great evening of live, original music from some of the best local, regional, national and international artists!
