Stuart McLamb is a North Carolina-based songwriter best known as the founder of The Love Language, whose four albums on Merge Records earned critical acclaim and took him to stages including Coachella, alongside artists such as Phoenix, The Arcade Fire and Teenage Fanclub. Praised by Pitchfork as "one of indie rock's most underrated songwriters," McLamb has built a catalog rooted in melody, emotion and a distinctly timeless approach to songwriting. Drawing from classic pop, folk and indie traditions, his music blends warm, analog textures with heartfelt, often nostalgic lyrics -- songs that feel both immediate and enduring. Whether performing solo or with his latest project Fancy Gap, a collaboration with Charles Crossingham (featuring contributions from Sharon Van Etten, Adam Lazzara and Rami Jaffee), McLamb brings an intimate, honest energy to the stage, where the focus remains on the song above all. Check out Stuart's latest project - Fancy Gap - on his Bandcamp page. -------------------------------------------------- American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Sean Thomas Gerard was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and currently resides in Wilmington, NC. Sean fronted Onward, Soldiers and released two albums with the band on Winoca Records and an EP independently. 2011's LP "Ghosts in this Town" - 2012's LP "Monsters" and 2016’s EP “Daydreamer.” Sean was featured on the show One Tree Hill, has played various music festivals around the country including CMJ, SXSW, 35 Denton and Hopscotch, had his song "Let the Time Roll By" on the compilation CD "Gasoline Rainbows" by Vagrant Records and was featured on Nashville's Music City Roots. He also can be seen on PBS's Sun Sessions, filmed at Sun Studio in Memphis. When performing solo, Sean's songs are stripped bare, exposing his keen sense of melody and songwriting craftsmanship. He delivers his songs with great intensity and undeniable sincerity. His catchy, yet haunting tunes, chocked full of dreamy lyrics and clever observations, will stick with you for days. Sean’s first solo endeavor, titled “Great Unknown” was released in August 2015.
Texas-born Jaimee Harris and North Carolina’s Wes Collins are joining forces for the Folk’N Friends Tour. Their sounds—Harris’s emotionally raw small-town narratives and Collins’s surreal, deep, and uniquely catchy songwriting– combined make for a moving night of heartfelt storytelling. You won’t want to miss this collaborative song swap-style show infused with a decade of friendship and mutual musical admiration. ABOUT JAIMEE HARRIS: Jaimee Harris’s sophomore effort, 'Boomerang Town,' marks a bold step forward for this country-folk-leaning singer-songwriter. It is an arresting, ambitious song-cycle that explores the generational arc of family, the stranglehold of addiction, and the fragile ties that bind us together as Americans. Harris began cultivating 'Boomerang Town' in 2016, a time of great loss for many in the Americana community, with the songwriter losing several musicians close to her. A shift in the nation’s political landscape had ushered in a new level of cultural polarization and for someone who grew up in a small town outside of Waco, Texas, Harris believed the values instilled by her parents were not entirely in line with how many were viewing and vilifying Christians. As a person in recovery, Harris has had to re-evaluate her own connection to faith and find strength in a higher power. It was from the intersection of these social, personal, and political currents that the album was born. While themes of addiction and grief permeate sections of the record, it echoes hope in the face of the darkness. 'Boomerang Town' understands that love and grief are two sides of the same coin. – 2023 Jaimee's new album, ' Anywway, Here's Jaimee Harris,' produced by Jason Weinheimer, recorded with John Fullbright, Jesse Aycock, Paddy Ryan, Brian Patterson, Jared Tyler, Kim Richey, and The McCrary Sisters, is scheduled to be released in 2026. ABOUT WES COLLINS: Wes Collins writes songs that dig deep and go to uncertain, sometimes scary places. Come for a haunting melody and some intricate fingerpicking and stay for the wit and deep literary intelligence. There is always more to find in a Wes Collins song. Wes has played shows from coast to coast including: The Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville, TN; The Kerrville Folk Festival in Kerrville, TX; the Cary Theater in Cary, NC (opening for Dave Olney); and many more. He is a winner of the prestigious Grassy Hills New Folk Competition and a North Carolina Arts Council Songwriting Fellowship, and has been featured as a finalist in The Telluride Troubadour Contest in Telluride, CO; The Songwriter's Serenade Competition in Moravia, TX; and The Wildflower Performing Songwriter Contest in Dallas, TX. A former librarian and avowed record nerd, Wes can imitate the sound of outmoded computer voice simulations. He hasn’t found a way to make that pay yet.

Caleb Caudle’s body of work is shaped from the ground up. His artistry has emerged through endurance and the steady momentum of a life in motion, carrying him from small stages in the North Carolina foothills he calls home, all the way to the Grand Ole Opry. Now, Caudle is entering a pivotal chapter – one of a profound culmination where life and art converge in powerful ways. The recent discovery that he and his wife are going to be first-time parents has added a new perspective, full of the responsibility and wonder that welcoming a child into the world brings. On his new album, Heavy Thrill, this personal evolution mirrors his artistic journey. He takes full creative control, self-producing for the first time while recording at the storied Cash Cabin in Hendersonville, Tenn., where reverence for tradition meets his singular artistic vision. “For this record, I wanted to focus on embracing the patina of life,” says Caudle. “Our plans rarely shake out the way we want them to. This record is about doing the most with what you’re given and weathering the storms.” With the release of this album, Caudle is also launching his own label, aptly named “Handplow Records,” for the steel handplow painted a rusty red that sits in his great uncle’s yard, across the street from his home. “Much like farming, my career has been about putting in the work,” Caudle says. “You can’t always control the weather, but you can show up every day and give it your best.” The 10-track album captures life as it leaves its mark, embracing patience and quiet perseverance, as embodied in “Slow Growth” whose lyrics tell the story of the constant gardener, waking up each day and finding the ways to become a better version of yourself. “The Ballad of Country Ham” reckons with the cost of chasing dreams and the aftermath when they slip away, while songs like “Anxious” turn inward, grappling with the dissonance of staying empathetic in a world that seems to have forgotten what the word means. Caudle extends compassion toward flawed, deeply human lives—whether it’s the ethical gray spaces of survival in “Fox Got the Chicken” or the quiet resilience of a toll booth worker hanging on in “Toll Booth,” penned alongside two-time Grammy winner Natalie Hemby. Heavy Thrill was mixed by Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Modest Mouse) and mastered by Pete Lyman (Chris Stapleton, John Prine), two of Caudle’s favorite engineers, who have over 40 Grammy nominations between them. Caudle has brought his music to stages across the world, with standout appearances at festivals including Merlefest, Luck Reunion, Kerrville Folk Festival, Bourbon & Beyond, Stagecoach, and Cayamo, alongside a run of critically acclaimed albums praised by The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, NPR, No Depression, and Rolling Stone. He has made multiple appearances on NPR’s Mountain Stage and has been a guest DJ on Sirius XM’s Outlaw Country, where his songs are in constant rotation. In the fall of 2024, Caudle reached a career-defining milestone, stepping into the circle at the Grand Ole Opry for the first time.

About Brown Mountain Lightning Bugs If Jerry Garcia and Tom Waits made a folk fusion duo, it might sound like the Brown Mountain Lightning Bugs. Fans have described their music as “effortlessly complex” and blues legend Henry Turner Jr. calls it “funky mountain music.” Blending traditional with trippy, the two have played throughout the US and internationally, including slots at the Anchorage Folk Festival, the historic Mine Shaft Tavern, Mill Farm Music (UK), Rockwood Music Hall, Piedmont Folkways, and more. While the Bugs know that only tacos and pets can make everyone happy, they aim to create a concoction of sounds that gets a lot of toes tapping and heads bobbing, and maybe make a few friends along the way. When not performing, the two can be found hiking the foothills and mountains of North Carolina with their growing menagerie of dogs and cat (just one) and playing the nerdiest video games imaginable. About Couldn't Be Happiers What’s in a name? For Couldn't Be Happiers, the whole damn thing. This award-winning folk-rock/Americana duo enjoys every moment onstage together, and it’s pretty contagious. Described by Doug Davis of Flytrap Studios as “Violent Femmes meets Johnny and June,” this songwriting duo puts on a live show that all but dares you not to enjoy yourself. Their original repertoire includes stories about the obsessive drive of a Bigfoot hunter, the misadventures of a plastic bag, and the end of the world from global warming. Their homespun harmonies and powerful vocals will take you from church to holler to Opry and back.

Murray Attaway is best known as the lead singer and guitarist for Guadalcanal Diary. After the band's breakup, Attaway recorded one solo album, titled In Thrall, which was released by DGC Records in 1993 and produced by Tony Berg. As a film composer, Attaway has written music for several independent films as well as having songs placed in numerous films and television shows. Murray’s new album Tense Music Plays–his first in over thirty years–will be released in April. In 2019, Attaway created the satirical “Dazzle Dudes” podcast, which tells the story of a fictional group of inept young males who attempt to start a glam rock band in central Georgia in the 1970s. The show is written, performed and produced by Attaway. Don Dixon is an American record producer, songwriter, and musician. He is one of the key producers of what is called the jangle rock movement of the early 1980s, including working with R.E.M. and The Smithereens. Dixon and several fellow freshmen at UNC-Chapel Hill formed the band Arrogance. Arrogance recorded six albums and helped create a local music scene. Before breaking up in 1983, Arrogance became North Carolina's top regional act. Dixon spent thirteen years as a member of Arrogance and learned the essence of record production during this time, producing all the band's independent albums. In 1982, Mitch Easter asked him to co-produce R.E.M.’s debut LP Murmur and their 1984 follow–up LP Reckoning. Dixon then spent several years producing artists such as Chris Stamey (The dBs) The Smithereens, Fetchin’ Bones, Richard Barone (The Bongos), Guadalcanal Diary, Marshall Crenshaw, Tommy Keene and James McMurtry, among many others. Peter Holsapple is an American musician who, along with Chris Stamey, Gene Holder and Will Rigby, comprised the dBs. He became the band's principal songwriter and singer after Stamey's departure. Holsapple played as an auxiliary musician with R.E.M. and Hootie & the Blowfish before joining the Continental Drifters. In 1997, he released his first solo album, Out of the Way. He followed it up 2018’s Game Day. In 2024, the dBs reformed and are currently touring behind the re-releases of their catalog. Peter's third solo album was released April 12, 2025, produced by Don Dixon.

In the midst of recording his 12th album, wavering in his resolve to finish what he’d started, Seth Walker came to a realization. “This work does not define me. This is not who I am forever. This is just a moment.” No album is trapped in amber, no song is set in stone. Distance colors compositions over the years and each album is left as a reflection of its own period in time. This idea played a big part in shaping Why The Worry. Now, the other half of knowing is letting go; letting go of the worry about perception, the worry of over-preparation, and the worry that seeps in constantly from the news and noise of everyday life. Taking a page from Willie Nelson, Walker embraced the songwriter’s sage wisdom, “I’ve never seen worry accomplish anything… so I decided not to do it.” Truth be told, there aren’t many better oracles to hang an ethos on than brother Willie. The new album finds Walker reunited with old friends and familiar names. Once again Jano Rix steps behind the boards, co-producing the album with Seth and engineer Brook Sutton. In the producer’s fifth outing he’s become an invaluable sounding board, the kind who knows what’s missing and, just as importantly, what needs to be taken away. Oliver Wood (The Wood Brothers) lends a pen to the title track, and Seth’s classically trained father Scott adds strings to “I’m Getting Ready,” a song penned by Walker’s contemporary Michael Kiwanuka. But worry always tries to creep in. It’s inevitable, isn’t it? The album was just about finished when Hurricane Helene hit Walker’s region in the mountains around Asheville, and as a result, the record almost didn’t see light. As catastrophe took shape and literal bridges were broken, the album’s importance wavered in Seth’s mind until the central theme came back into view. The worry wouldn’t undo any damage, and there was still service in song. There’s a telling nod in the album closing with Bobby Charles’ seminal ode “I Must Be In a Good Place Now.” Why The Worry is a spiritual reset, watching the sunrise over the mountains. It soaks in like warmth on the skin after a night of shivering in the dark. Charles isn’t the only notable scribe among the track list, an even mix of Walker’s originals and a carefully curated crop of covers that rifle through the past and present. Setting the course are two gems from JJ Cale, whose sanguine saunter leans well into the album’s themes of amble and ease. Walker opens the album with the smoke ring sway of Bill Withers, turning the lights low for a gently funked rendition of “The Same Love That Made Me Laugh.” The groove grows deeper on Al Green’s “Take Me To The River,” putting a distinctly reclined feel on the soul classic. The breezy feeling extends to the originals as well, injecting a bit of Cale’s country funk into “Up On The Mountain,” soaking spring air and hope into “Supernatural Thing,” and melting nostalgia into meditation on “Midway Girl.” Why The Worry follows a string of critically acclaimed albums from Walker, garnering praise from NPR to The Washington Post. He’s been found on the road with The Mavericks, The Wood Brothers, Raul Malo, Paul Thorn and Ruthie Foster among others. He recently penned “Moon and Stars” – the title track to The Mavericks new album, sung as a duet with Sierra Ferrell. Walker’s latest album Why The Worry is out on April 4, 2025 on Royal Potato Family.

For singer/songwriter Ben Danaher, carrying on a family tradition of storytelling has often led him down darkened roads to haunting, painful reflection on his journey thus far. But Danaher is no longer standing in shadows. The Texas-native is back in a glorious new season of self-reflection with a brand-new, astute and sincere lease on life and love Danaher’s latest effort, The Actor, packs and powerful punch, rolling along with a tender and restrained edginess. Taking center stage are the raw musings of a man shifting gears and looking deeply inward in a way he’s never done before, focusing on the man in his reflection and sifting through the layers with an astute and sharp self-awareness. Produced by Sean McConnell at his rural farm retreat and home studio in Nolensville, Tennessee, The Actor not only ushers in a new arc in storytelling for Danaher, but also a new method in production. “It’s about realizing that a circumstance doesn’t define you. I many ways, that became a battle cry for me,” he says. “Love Enough to Leave Somebody” also brings Danaher to steady, up-tempo territory, with a sobering twist on the heartbreak scenario as a confessional of leaving, not for lack of love, but because you aren’t ready to meet a great love in the moment. Overall, the album represents a slow-burning, humble awakening. If Danaher’s last record begged questions of fate’s unforgiving hand and life’s cruel plan, pain and heartbreak, his newest works sees him realizing that he might have held the answers within all along. ABOUT KENNY ROBY When you close your eyes and listen to Kenny Roby’s self-titled album, you can imagine an alternate world where the singer/songwriter channels Leonard Cohen. Only in that dimension, Cohen is moonlighting as a southern culinarian where his deft touch knows just how much vinegar is needed to keep things from getting too sweet. He keeps the ingredients simple and lets them simmer precisely as long and slow as needed. In more literal terms, Kenny Roby has become quite adept at finding the quiet space between beauty and sadness in a song. From Roby’s earliest days as a musician fronting 6 String Drag, he was labeled an “old soul.” Someone who had lived count-less lives and regaled listeners with stories of those adventures. Or in another reality, Roby is the troubadour version of Hermes in Greek mythology (or Mercury in Roman tales), carrying souls to their final resting place, but learning some of their secrets along the journey and carrying their tales in his songs. Written and recorded in Woodstock, NY where Kenny Roby relocated from Raleigh, NC in 2019, he embraces the spirits of songwriters like Fred Neil, Van Morrison, Tim Hardin, Karen Dalton, Bobby Charles, Levon Helm and, of course, Bob Dylan who once inhabited the very same hills. While he’s a fairly recent resident to the Catskill Mountains, Roby speaks of the area with the reverence of a long timer. He’s acutely aware of his surroundings and he knows there are things he can’t explain, which is okay with him. He’d rather spend his time feeling it.

With a catalog of songs pushing the sixty mark, the genre lines continue to blur while she refuses to constrict the songs from becoming what they will, as her influences span from Strand of Oaks to Lucinda Williams to Blackberry Smoke. Her band consists of two veteran Raleigh players, Bruce Clark and Larry Woodard, and songwriter/drummer turned bassist, Braxton Lindsay and their collaboration brings a sound reminiscent of Tom Petty and the Pretenders colliding. She’s performed from her adopted hometown of Clayton, NC’s Harvest Festival to the Key West Songwriter’s Festival as well as many bars, breweries and clubs throughout the years. Jen’s song “Roadside Flower” was featured as American Songwriter’s ‘Daily Discovery’ and her up and coming release will feature the revered Doug Pettibone. ABOUT JACK THE RADIO Raleigh, North Carolina roots-rockers Jack the Radio blend rock and blues sensibility with Americana, folk, and country to create a tapestry of swampy southern-tinged sounds on their latest album release, Creatures. All of the songs on the album were written by singer George Hage with a common thread that weaves its way through telling us to stand strong as we ride out the highs and lows of what life throws at us. Over the years, Jack The Radio has shared the stage with The Avett Brothers, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, George Thorogood, Cold War Kids, Rayland Baxter, and American Aquarium to name a few. Captained by frontman Grey Hyatt’s vivid songwriting & lucid vision for his songs, Folkknot’s eclectic instrumentation provides a lush soundscape that brings their songs & stories to life. Folkknot formed in January 2020 when founders Grey & Marcos met at a night chemistry lab on campus at Wake Forest University. The band recorded humble demo records and performed in local bars as a trio until early 2024 when a six-man lineup coalesced as they released their debut studio record "All Good Things". Consisting of accordion, violin, piano, guitar, upright bass, drums, and three-part vocal harmonies, the expanded lineup began touring regionally in the southeast on the back of their new record. The band will return to the studio in the fall of 2025 with plans to turn their early demos into a new double record in 2026. Folkknot is a seafaring quintet based in Greensboro, North Carolina. Never afraid to sail against the wind, Folkknot crafts enchanting indie-folk-pop-rock escapism that beats back against the mainstream current of our modern era, harking at the essence of folk storytelling elements from yesteryear. Captained by frontman Grey Hyatt’s vivid songwriting & lucid vision for his songs, Folkknot’s eclectic instrumentation provides a lush soundscape that brings their songs & stories to life.
NOTE: Jess will be joined by a full band including Luis Rodriguez (Charles Latham & the Borrowed Band) on guitar, Robert Sledge (Ben Folds Five) on bass, Rob Ladd (Pressure Boys, Don Henley, Alanis Morrissette, Bass Battery) on drums and Nathan Golub (John Howie, Jr. & the Rosewood Bluff) on pedal steel. About Jess Jess Klein came to this world to pull firebrand power and childlike joy from our darkest shadows. The Bluegrass Situation hails Jess's work as “one part grassroots social activism, two parts alt-country guitar rock — a combo we can certainly get behind.” Klein's newest album, 2023's When We Rise, harnesses this potent combination with themes of empowerment and the joy of overcoming set to a dynamic and deeply introspective roots-inflected soundtrack.

There’s a pose that concludes every yoga practice called “savasana” which translates, literally, to “corpse pose.” It’s a moment of stillness for the mind and the body. Though simple in nature, this pose can feel quite complex if approached with a brain swirling with noise and anxiety. Chatter about work stress, political disruptions, failed relationships, and overall world uncertainties - monsters that have no business living there and command undeserved space. But in savasana, if you can embrace the stillness for even just a moment, your mind may be treated to brief respite. Peace. A tiny crack of light. For Carrie Welling, out of that crack, a new record was born. Fans have loved Welling’s music from the inception and it’s clear to see why. Her bold, sultry voice, reminiscent of Sheryl Crow’s grit, Tom Petty’s pen, and Stevie Nicks’ heart, is upstaged only by the genuine love and connection this natural performer has with her fans both on and off stage. Welling’s latest album, Crack in the Chaos, invites listeners on a journey to search for the joy in the turmoil, a testament to the belief that even in the darkest times, there is always a glimmer of light to guide us. Each track is a reminder that the struggle itself is a part of that journey. In each “crack” we find confidence and hope - the energy that drives us. Melodies rich in Americana pop blend seamlessly with her singer-songwriter roots and empowered, honest lyrics. But while this new collection of songs maintain Welling’s signature raw vulnerability and authenticity - qualities that are essential to her creative process - fans will certainly take note of a more mature and evolved sound. Welling credits this transformation to Nashville producer Bobby Holland. Recorded at Pentavrit Studio and featuring collaborations with Nashville’s top-tier musicians (including co-writers Brad Sample, Craig Wilson, Eric Erdman, Donny Brewer, and vocalist Eric Holljes of Delta Rae), Crack in the Chaos is imbued with a sense of power and sophistication. The album found its own light in the support of a successful Kickstarter campaign and Welling’s loyal Patreon community, which she fondly calls her “Wellos”. Over the past four years, her Wellos have grown significantly, providing both financial support and an emotional anchor during challenging times. From opening their homes to host intimate, beautiful house concerts to extending their hospitality throughout their network, her Wellos have transcended the role of fans and become true, deeply cherished friends. That’s not to say this journey has been without its challenges. “The pandemic presented a unique set of obstacles that forced me to adapt and grow in unexpected ways,” Welling shares. “Growing older and navigating these turbulent times taught me invaluable lessons about resilience and self-worth. I've come to embrace who I am and understand that I am capable of achieving what I truly deserve, even if it’s hard to see sometimes.” Fans are not the only ones who have seen Carrie for the brilliant artist she is. From touring with Delta Rae, Wyn Starks, Carbon Leaf, David Cook and Bowen Young to singing on the Melissa Etheridge Cruise and Sail Across the Sun Cruise with Train, Welling’s voice shines boldly and brightly the moment she takes the stage. Whether performing in The Netherlands and Germany, headlining Norwegian Cruises and the Meeting of the Minds Festival, or dazzling crowds at the Songwriter Island Showcase in Isla Mujeres, Mexico, Carrie Welling shows no signs of stopping.
